The Roast
“Snoop Dogg's 22nd studio album is exactly the kind of record a man who has nothing left to prove and nothing left to lose makes on a Tuesday afternoon. There are three bangers, four filler tracks, two guest features that feel like Snoop did them because the rapper owed him money, and one song about a dog that is genuinely moving if you do not think about it too hard. It is a Snoop album. You know what a Snoop album sounds like.”

The Bright Side
Track six, the collaboration with Anderson .Paak, is the best pure rap Snoop has delivered since Algorithm. His voice has not aged so much as mellowed into exactly the instrument this kind of record needs. And at 22 albums deep, the fact that there is still anything worth hearing at all is its own kind of miracle.
Hardest Sneer
“The album is 17 tracks long because nobody at Death Row told him no. A good editor could have turned 10 Til Midnight into a tight 45 minute statement. What we got is 62 minutes of Snoop thinking out loud with the Pro Tools still running.”
