Noam Shazeer, co-author of Attention Is All You Need, the paper that birthed the Transformer, and a co-lead on Gemini, announced on June 18 he was leaving for OpenAI. Days later John Jumper, the Nobel laureate behind AlphaFold, confirmed he is heading to Anthropic.
