The Review
One Piece Season 2 had every reason to fail. Live-action anime adaptations have a graveyard the size of the Grand Line. But Netflix doubled down on practical effects, kept Inaki Godoy's infectious energy at the center, and actually listened to Oda. The result is a season that feels like the manga came to life without losing its soul.
The Alabasta arc is massive and the show handles it with surprising confidence. The action set pieces are bigger, Chopper somehow works in live-action (nobody expected that), and the emotional beats land harder than Season 1. The crew dynamic is the real treasure here.
Where it stumbles: some CGI creatures still look like they wandered in from a PS4 cutscene, the pacing in the middle episodes could be tighter, and there are moments where the tone shifts from epic to goofy so fast you get whiplash. But honestly? That is just One Piece being One Piece.
