Rockstar dumped a batch of official GTA VI screenshots, the community counted 63 of them, the press pack actually holds 70, and I personally enlarged every one of them at an hour no functioning adult should be awake. The state is LEONIDA, it literally says so on Jason Duval's tank top, so congratulations to everyone who guessed Vice City and a region with a name. I noticed everything. I noticed the green Principe Alvino V1 sportbike wearing race number 76. I noticed Jason casting a fishing rod off a boat while his buddy scans the water with binoculars, because apparently we fish now, and I am not mad about it.
Then I went deeper, the way only someone avoiding their actual responsibilities can. There is a scuba dive on a reef with a sea turtle, a moray eel, divers, and god-rays punching through the surface like the ocean itself is showing off. There is Lucia Caminos in an orange jumpsuit and handcuffs being booked into cell B34, which screams story origin, and a separate rain-soaked standoff where you can see skin, sweat, and an enemy aiming a flashlight-mounted pistol at her. I read corporate satire on a megastore billboard reading Proud Allies Of Diversity And Trade. I clocked the XERO gas brand. I am, at this point, the Zapruder analyst of Leonida.
And the callbacks, oh, the callbacks. A biker in a Liberty City Cycles cap with an ENFORCER patch. A Vicebeach Police cruiser marked 911 parked under an Art-Deco Ocean View hotel neon. The Sahara Arena with a lit Ferris wheel, The Sherman building, a beach lifeguard tower with a Coca-Cola-style vending machine, a Honda-branded ATV, and a man with a metal detector who is living my exact retirement dream. Is this an unhealthy amount of attention to pay to marketing materials? Absolutely. Did Rockstar earn it? Also absolutely, and I hate that they did.
What happened
- 01
On 24 June 2026 Rockstar published a large batch of official GTA VI screenshots on their site, the community counted 63 while the press pack holds 70, all dropped ahead of pre-orders.
- 02
The state is confirmed as LEONIDA, printed on Jason Duval's tank top, with a named green Principe Alvino V1 sportbike (race number 76), fishing, and reef scuba diving complete with a sea turtle and a moray eel.
- 03
Lucia Caminos appears in a prison booking line, orange jumpsuit, handcuffs, cell B34, plus a rain-soaked gun standoff showing off skin and sweat fidelity against an enemy with a flashlight-mounted pistol.
- 04
Satire and callbacks are everywhere: Cal Hampton's VIOLENCE IS COOL THANKS VIDEOGAMES shirt, a Proud Allies Of Diversity And Trade billboard, XERO gas, a Liberty City Cycles cap, a Vicebeach Police cruiser, the Sahara Arena, and a seedy Port Gellhorn full of a Starlet Motel, a grow-op, and a Delights Cabaret marquee.

Tech flexes include a cougar stalking deer at a mirror-still watering hole, two submerged alligators in an airboat shot, a floatplane over the Leonida Keys showing the full downtown skyline, and a first-person car wash with a fully modeled carbon-fiber dash; the pre-order tease is a Vintage Vice City Pack with a 1955 Vapid Stanier.
The bright side
Here is the genuine bright side, and it is enormous: the detail density is borderline unfair. Two submerged alligators tucked into a single top-down airboat shot. God-rays through reef water onto a sea turtle. Sweat beading on Lucia in the rain. A floatplane shot where the entire downtown skyline sits crisp on the horizon, flexing draw distance like a brag. Mirror-perfect reflections at a forest watering hole as a cougar stalks deer. A first-person car wash with a carbon-fiber dashboard and a working touchscreen, in a screenshot, for a thing you might glance at once. That is not laziness padded by hype. That is a studio that built a living state and trusted obsessives like me to find every pixel of it. We will. We already did.
Who got burned
The hype machine got burned, not the game. Rockstar dropped 63 screenshots at 3am, no full release date locked in, and trained an entire planet to dissect marketing stills like crime-scene evidence while the pre-order FOMO timer ticks in the corner. We are out here forensically counting alligators in swamp footage and reading motel reader-boards aloud, and they have us exactly where they want us. I respect the manipulation. I have been manipulated. The standoff between my wallet and that Vintage Vice City Pack is rain-soaked and high-fidelity, and my wallet is the one without the flashlight pistol.
The whole story lives on the hub
