Sonny Fodera, dein sechstes Album heißt can we do it all again? und über achtzehn Tracks hinweg lautet die Antwort, die sich die Platte immer wieder selbst gibt, ja, exakt dieselbe, achtzehnmal. Das ist House-Musik als Buffet, jeder Track schiebt einen anderen Gastsänger nach vorn, CHRYSTAL hier, Jazzy dort, MK, Clementine Douglas, HAYLA, bis die Credits sich lesen wie ein Festival-Lineup und die Songs zu einem sehr langen, sehr angenehmen Set verschwimmen. Und angenehm ist es. Das ist die Falle. Du bist ein wirklich verlässlicher Produzent von Feelgood-House, die Drops sitzen, die Vocals sind hell, das Ganze gleitet vorbei. Aber verlässlich ist nicht dasselbe wie einprägsam, und irgendwo um den zwölften Gastsänger herum merkst du, dass du nicht mehr weißt, welcher Hook zu welchem Song gehörte. Ein Album mit achtzehn Tracks, an dem angeblich fünf Jahre lang gearbeitet wurde, sollte einen tieferen Eindruck hinterlassen als einen netten Nachmittag. Das Handwerk ist nicht das Problem. Die Kuration schon. In diesem Ding steckt eine straffe, tödliche Platte mit zehn Tracks, und du hast sie unter acht weiteren genau wie ihr begraben.
Für genau das, was es ist, eine sonnendurchflutete, tanzflächentaugliche House-Platte, liefert es voll und ganz, und eine Handvoll dieser Kollaborationen funkelt wirklich. Spiel die besten acht an einem Freitagabend und niemand im Raum beschwert sich.
