“تهانينا، Yes. لقد أصدرتم ألبومكم الاستوديوي الرابع والعشرين، وهذا إما أن يكون نصباً تذكارياً لصمود الإنسان، أو دليلاً على أن أحداً في فريق الإدارة لا يعرف كيف يقول كلمة 'كفى'. يصل Aurora عام 2026 عبر InsideOut Music وSony، مكتملاً ما يسميه Jon Davison 'الثلاثية' مع The Quest وMirror to the Sky. ثلاثية، يا Jon. هذا مصطلح من سباقات الخيل. أنتم فرقة روك تقدمي تحتفظون بالأوركسترا الوطنية السيمفونية التشيكية على الاتصال السريع. ميزانية الاستعارات تمددت حتى رقّت كالإلهام تماماً. Louder Sound رصد الأمر مبكراً ووصف الألبوم بأنه يعتمد على 'الذاكرة العضلية لا الإلهام الحقيقي'، وصراحةً هذه الملاحظة مؤلمة، لأن الذاكرة العضلية هي بالضبط ما يبدو عليه هذا الصوت: خمسة محترفين بالغو الموهبة يفعلون ما اعتادوا فعله دائماً، من استوديوهاتهم المنزلية، عن بُعد، لأن جولة Classic Tales of YES أنهكت الجميع لدرجة أن التواجد في غرفة واحدة لم يعد مطروحاً على الطاولة. بالإنصاف، وعد Geoff Downes في مطلع عام 2025 بأن Aurora سيكون 'أكثر تقدمية في الصوت من الألبومات القليلة الأخيرة'، ونعم، جلبتم أوركسترا سيمفونية كاملة يقودها Vladimir Martinka، فالطموح موجود على الورق. لكن الطموح على الورق والطموح على الشريط حيوانان مختلفان تماماً. 'Jambustin'' يبدو كاسم مرفوض لمكمل غذائي للألياف، وقد وضعتموه في إصدار الكتاب الفني الفاخر الذي يأتي أيضاً على فينيل أخضر فاتح. الجمالية لا تشوبها شائبة. التنسيق سخيّ إلى حد الإسراف. Steve Howe يمسك بغيتار برتغالي بثني عشر وتراً، وهذا هو القرار الإبداعي الأكثر إثارة في الألبوم بلا منافس، واللحظة الوحيدة التي تشعر فيها بأن أحداً في الغرفة اختار الفضول بدلاً من الراحة. Roger Dean وابنته Freya Dean يتوليان الأعمال الفنية، وبالطبع النتيجة مذهلة، إذ لم يخذل Roger Dean يوماً ألبوم Yes بصرياً حتى حين تسعى الموسيقى بداخله إلى السير مع التيار. بعتم 500 نسخة من إصدار فينيل لوني العنب الخاص عبر متجركم، وهذا محبب بطريقة 'فرقة تبيع بضاعتها من طاولة قابلة للطي'. Aurora ألبوم يحب محبي Yes ويتوقع منهم محبة مقابلة بلا قيد أو شرط، وبالنسبة للأكثر إخلاصاً منهم، هذا العقد سيصمد جيداً.”

The Bright Side
لحظة Steve Howe وهو يمد يده إلى الغيتار البرتغالي بثني عشر وتراً هي أكثر لحظات الألبوم إثارة، ودليل على أن فضولاً حقيقياً لا يزال يسكن هذه الفرقة في مكان ما. الأوركسترا الوطنية السيمفونية التشيكية تضيف ثقلاً أوركسترالياً حقيقياً يرفع الألبوم فوق مستوى الحنين الخالص، ولم يكن Prog Report مخطئاً حين وصفه بأنه أقوى ألبوم في حقبة Jon Davison حتى الآن. الأعمال الفنية لـRoger وFreya Dean جميلة كما هو متوقع دائماً، وتثبت أن بعض التقاليد تستحق البقاء كما هي تماماً.

Muscle Memory Is Not a Creative Strategy

Louder Sound called Aurora an album 'relying on muscle memory rather than real inspiration,' and the remote home studio workflow used to develop it suggests the band never even had to look each other in the eye to make creative decisions.
Fix
Get in a room together. Physical proximity creates friction, and friction creates choices. The Portuguese 12-string moment proves Howe still has surprises in him when he reaches for something unfamiliar. Build a whole album around that instinct instead of one track.
The Trifecta Nobody Asked For

Jon Davison described Aurora as completing a 'trifecta' with The Quest (2021) and Mirror to the Sky (2023), framing three albums in five years as a planned artistic arc rather than what Glide Magazine politely called an 'uneven journey.'
Fix
Trilogies need internal contrast to justify the concept. If you are going to sell three albums as a unified statement, the third entry needs to feel like a culmination, not a continuation. Define what Aurora resolves that the first two left open, and make that resolution audible.
'Jambustin'' Is a Bonus Track Title, Not a Song Title

The album ships with two bonus tracks: 'Jambustin'' and 'Watching the River Roll.' One of these sounds like a spontaneous studio experiment that was correctly identified as not quite album-worthy and then incorrectly included anyway on a premium deluxe format.
Fix
Bonus tracks on a deluxe artbook edition should be rarities that reward serious fans, not jam sessions with playful names that undercut the orchestral seriousness you spent the rest of the album building. Cut 'Jambustin'' or rename it something that belongs on the same record as a Czech symphony orchestra.
The Grape Vinyl Is Doing More Marketing Work Than the Music

A grape-colored vinyl limited to 500 copies sold via the band's official store is a smart collectible move, but when the most talked-about aesthetic choice on a release is the color of the physical format rather than any specific musical moment, your packaging is outperforming your songs.
Fix
Let the music generate the conversation and let the vinyl be a reward for people already converted. That means front-loading press coverage with the Czech orchestra arrangements and the Portuguese 12-string work, not the color of the wax.
